The Next Chapter for Adult Enrichment Centers
For more than 40 years, Adult Enrichment Centers has created spaces where individuals of varying abilities and aging can live with purpose, build meaningful connections, and grow in independence. That work has always been rooted in a simple belief: when people are given the right environment, they are capable of far more than what is often expected of them.
The School of the Arts is the next expression of that belief. This 10,000-square-foot facility will be an inclusive space designed for neurodiverse adults—one that brings together creativity, real-world skill development, and community in a way that does not currently exist in our region. It is not just an expansion of programming, but a reimagining of what opportunity can look like.
As we move toward construction and a planned opening in late 2026, this space represents more than a building. It represents a future where creativity becomes a pathway to confidence, independence, and meaningful participation in everyday life.

What We're Building
A Culinary Training Kitchen
A DHEC-approved culinary kitchen will give members the opportunity to learn cooking and nutrition skills in a professional, real-world environment. This space is designed to build confidence, independence, and practical life skills that can translate into everyday living and potential employment pathways.
A Real-World Living Lab
A fully furnished, apartment-style living lab will allow members to practice essential life skills in a safe and supportive setting. From laundry and cleaning to personal safety and basic home maintenance, this space helps bridge the gap between learning and independent living.
Creative Studios
Dedicated studios will support a wide range of artistic expression, including visual arts, music production, podcasting, maker space and movement. Each space is intentionally designed with real-world tools and environments, giving members the opportunity to create, explore, and develop new skills.
Indoor & Outdoor Wellness Spaces
Situated on three acres, the campus will include space for outdoor recreation, gardens, and wellness-focused programming. These environments will support both physical health and emotional wellbeing, creating a more holistic experience for every member.
A Community Hub
The School of the Arts is designed to extend beyond our members and into the broader community. Evenings and weekends will open the space for workshops, events, and partnerships, creating a shared environment centered on creativity, inclusion, and connection.
